Ghosts are found in many places. Most of the time, we associate a ghost with an event or a place where an incident related to the deceased occurred. People associate ghosts with lights, shadows, sounds or objects.
Ghosts in ancient times
The first writings about a ghost date from the first century and belong to Pliny the Younger who related about the ghost of an old man who haunted his house. In his appearances, the old man was rattling his chains over his head.
In 856, the inhabitants of a farm in Germany claimed that a poltergeistĀ attacked the farm by throwing stones.
Anne Boleyn was the mother of Queen Elizabeth I and the wife of King Henry VIII. She was executed in the Tower of London, being accused of witchcraft, incest and adultery. For a long time, the Tower of London was haunted by her ghost.
After the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865, his ghost was seen in the halls of the White House, even by guests attending events.

In 2008, Victoria Iovan presented a photograph of a tall ghost dressed in white, taken on the hotel’s interior stairs. The news was taken over and presented by the Romanian media.
Ghosts are considered paranormal phenomena, and specialists have compiled a list of their appearances. The castles of Great Britain occupy the first place, followed by France and the US. In 1901, two English tourists wandered through the gardens of the Trianol and said they saw several shadows of medieval characters.
Ghosts in Paris
An event that has been written about for a long time, took place in Paris, in 1873. The building of a conservatory on Le Peletier Street was destroyed as a result of a fire. Among the victims were a young pianist and a young ballerina. The two were going to get married and as a result, the young man had composed a song that was to be released at the ceremony.
It is said that the young man survived the tragedy and hid in the basement of the work, until 1875, when he died. After his death, several dramatic events took place. A spectator occupying seat number 13, died during a show, as a chandelier collapsed on him. A driver died inexplicably. He was said to have been hanged, but the necessary rope was not found. The director of the work received 20,000 francs / month from an anonymous person for renting box number 5.
The mysterious person never made an appearance at a show, although he paid an exorbitant amount every month.
The murdered butcher
Catherine de Medicis was an energetic, possessive queen, she loved power. One of the queen’s closest was the astrologer Cosme Ruggieri. For those who threatened her in one way or another, the queen resorted to extreme measures. A court butcher was killed by beheading because he said he knew some secrets from the queen’s past.
Before he died, he said: I will return. Years later, Cosme Ruggieri told the queen that the butcher’s ghost had sent her a message referring to her death. According to the message, the queen was dying near Saint Germain.
Naturally superstitious, the queen refused any travel to localities with this name. She was to die with a priest who offered her the last communion and whose name was Julien Saint Germain.

During the period 1949-1952, redevelopment works were carried out at the White House. The residence was completely renovated, by order of President Truman. In 1992, in a biography of President Truman, a photograph was published showing a translucent figure on the construction site inside the residence.
